TECH: snoots
For those among you who don’t know David Hobby at Strobist.com, you’ll find this entry quite interesting.
David is ‘the’ evangilist on working with small flashes. You can find multiple tutorials on Strobist.com on how to create dazzling and professional looking images with the use of your simple camera flashes.
Personally I use more sophisticated lighting equipment, but my normal hot shoe flashes aren’t very far away on any production for simple fill-in effects.
David shows you how he manipulates and directs his hot shoe flashes with the use of snoots and speed grids. A simple but very effective tool to control where your light needs to go, and to make sure it doesn’t go anywhere it shouldn’t go.
